The new solution enables the collection of purchases 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The “Megaskrytka” locker located at the store in Katowice has 27 lockers of various sizes. If the order exceeds the maximum capacity of “Megaskrytka” locker – this delivery option is no longer available. The same mechanisms also allocate orders to boxes of the most appropriate sizes, including the largest lockers with enough room for sofas or mattresses. The Agata chain’s partner in the design and production of devices is Selfmaker.
In the largest lockers, the goods are left on a special trolley with wheels, which will facilitate the pick-up of the goods. Thanks to this, the customer can conveniently transport the piece of furniture to his vehicle. In the vicinity of each “Megaskrytka”, there is a shed where carts are available allowing to transport packages with goods. There is also special parking space in an above-standard size, so that a bigger delivery car can be parked there.
If the buyer does not manage to collect the package within 48 hours, the goods will still be waiting for him in the Agata store or warehouse.
The second such device is placed at the showroom in Kobylnica near Słupsk, which is the newest stationary point of sale of Agata S.A. on the map of Poland. In six-month period, the Agata brand plans to launch more “Megaskrytka” lockers at stores in various locations, including in Warsaw, Poznań and Łódź.
73 percent of 50 largest retail companies operating on the European market offer delivery of orders to collection points. According to a study by Statistica, 28% of consumers in France chose Click and Collect to avoid additional costs. The next places were taken by Poland and Germany (12.4% and 11.6% respectively).
– “Until now, this form of delivery, especially to a locker, mostly concerned small orders – clothes, shoes and accessories (62.5%), cosmetics and perfumes (51.1%) or books (42.1%). Thanks to our implementation for the Agata chain of stores with furniture and interior decoration articles, we introduced automation to a completely new segment and together we set the direction of its development “- says Marek Wieteska, CEO of SelfMaker.
Agata is a Polish chain of large-area furniture and interior decoration articles showrooms in Poland. It has 32 large-scale showrooms located in both large and medium-sized cities across the country.
