The pandemic forces entrepreneurs to accelerate their decisions on modernization of their businesses. In order to meet their needs, PayTel, the National Payment Institution and SelfMaker – a Polish R&D and production company, decided to start cooperation. Its purpose is to support companies in Poland in the process of increasing safety and automation as well as adapting to new conditions.
The pandemic that has been going on for a year has introduced a number of changes in the daily functioning of thousands of Polish enterprises. The need to keep a distance, the fear of contact with cash, transferring some transactions to „on-line” formula (also in the “I order in the app and pick up on the spot” model) are the challenges faced by many entrepreneurs. Another, equally important test that Polish business is facing is the matter of surviving in such complicated and difficult conditions and searching for new development paths.
The direction that seems natural is the introduction of automation processes and the devices supporting them. From hybrid cash registers, SelfLocker devices for contactless orders pickup, to modern, multifunctional info-kiosks. All this is gaining more and more popularity and interest among shops and service points. In addition, it increases security by reducing the number of contacts and lowers the risk of unexpected quarantine of employees. A logical element of the solutions we create are cashless payments, in various forms. Cooperation with PayTel is not only an opportunity to offer a complete solution, but also to implement new and innovative ideas – says Marek Wieteska, President of SelfMaker.

According to the „Polska Bezgotówkowa” report, having a terminal becomes the standard for retail and services. The terminal is no longer seen as a technologically challenging device. Moreover, micro-entrepreneurs use payment cards themselves, and some of them also use smartphone payments privately.
We notice that Poles like to pay without cash more and more and that they understand the benefits that this type of payment offers to both customers and the company that accepts such a payment. SelfMaker automation solutions extend the range of situations in which this type of transaction occurs. In addition, the innovative solutions proposed by this company are a challenge for us, and therefore – the motor of our development, which always inspires us – says Adam Tencza, Member of the Management Board of PayTel SA.
Small and medium-sized enterprises will also be able to take advantage of the offer resulting from the cooperation of companies. As representatives of PayTel, Selfmaker and the National Payment Institution announce, it will not be directed only to large retail chains. The main benefit for final users is the possibility of using self-service checkouts, which have been appearing more and more in stores in recent months, improving and accelerating the sales process. Cooperation with PayTel is another element of the development of the company which records the greatest increase in the number of customers.
